We deliver personalized "Blind Date with a Book" packages to hospitalized children — surprise books, stickers, notes, and joy. Because every child deserves a great story, especially now.
Each package is a wrapped surprise — selected based on the child's chosen categories like adventure, animals, fantasy, or mystery. Inside, they'll find a curated book, themed stickers and trinkets, a handwritten note of encouragement, and for older readers — annotation materials like tabs, pencils, and bookmarks.
Every item is carefully sanitized and lovingly assembled by our volunteer team. Gently used books are welcomed and cleaned to hospital standards — because a great story doesn't need to be brand new.
We're Aneri and Meghan — two high school students who believe that the right book, at the right moment, can change everything.
Aneri is passionate about accessibility, storytelling, and community service. She believes every child deserves access to the transformative power of reading — no matter where they are. Her vision helped shape the Blind Date with a Book concept that's at the heart of everything we do.
Meghan brings creativity, empathy, and drive to Chapter by Chapter. Inspired by the idea that a single book can become a companion during the hardest days, she co-designed our package programs with care and intention — making sure every child feels seen, special, and cared for.
We're just getting started, and every bit of support means the world to us. We're working to turn our big dream into a registered nonprofit called Chapter by Chapter. We gladly accept gently used books! All donated books are inspected and sanitized before being included in packages. Books should be in good readable condition — no torn pages, heavy water damage, or writing throughout (light pencil annotations are okay for older children's books).
